Trip Suspended

Dear Friends and supporters,

Thank you so much for your generosity at our recent fundraising tea party.  We raised a phenomenal £800 both during the afternoon and with additional contributions from those who were unable to attend.  We felt truly blessed and overwhelmed by the sacrificial giving that we experienced.

However, it is with great sadness that the trustees have decided to suspend the forthcoming trip to Sierra Leone by Sandra and Sarah due to impending risks associated with the COVID 19 virus.

The planned flight with Air France would involve a long stay over at Charles De Gaule airport in Paris.  We believe that the journey would potentially put both Sandra and Sarah at risk of contracting and spreading the virus.  There is also potential for risks to the Sierra Leonian community who at this point are virus free.

This is a fast moving situation which is going to escalate in the coming weeks, and we feel that suspension of this trip is the most responsible decision to make.

Funds that have been raised will be sent by international payment to FHM for continuation of building the widows’ houses.

Please pray for protection of those in Sierra Leone and at home from this virus.

We will update you on any further decisions as they arise for our next trip to Freetown.

The Trustees.

Sandra Lloyd, Sarah Wolton, Steve Butterworth, Verity Lowe.
