Solemn Mass

Monday was another day of celebration at the bakery site.  It started with a “solemn Mass” which was anything but solemn – it was 3 hours of worship and presentations.  15 girls from the Vocational Centre were presented to the congregation, and the catering team presented a delicious lunch for the dignitaries, including the archbishop who was a great hit.  15 ex students who have gone to university attended to help others see what can be achieved.  Ernest is very proud of their achievements.  1,500 bread rolls were baked for the community, mixed by hand, and providing the children with bread, sardines and mayo.  The bakers are excited to know that a dough mixer will soon be installed to save time and energy, and provide more variety of goodies.

The weather today was very hot and humid.  Sandra and Sarah went to Deep Eye School and saw children still singing the song “Jesus Love is Very Wonderful” !  The girls in the tailoring are making some amazingly complicated garments with no patterns, just a tape measure and a pair of scissors.

Henri has spoken of the effects of escalating inflation which has meant many hungry children are coming to school.

Please continue to pray for protection over Sandra and Sarah, along with all those at Family Homes Movement.  Pray that they will manage the heat and have realistic expectations over what is possible to manage as each day dawns.

Thank you for your faithfulness,

Blessings.
